If our countries were not swamped by millions of cheap labour immigrants then property prices/rents would be much much lower, healthcare and other services would not be under strain like they are now, so the price of a meal, or other non essentials would not matter.

I am skeptical about the claims made around 25:00 that immigrants are being brought in to provide cheap labor. This is one factor but not the only one, and not necessarily the most important factor. Many immigrants are unemployed and receiving welfare benefits. I strongly suspect that the main reason non-White immigrants are being brought in is precisely to replace the homogeneous native White British population with a multiracial population, in which no group is the majority, as fast as possible. This would make it impossible for a popular ethnonationalist movement to arise and take power. Diversity divides. Socially engineered diversity is the ultimate form of Divide and Rule.
Furthermore, lots of jobs are being lost to offshoring and automation. There are too few economically viable jobs to go around even without immigration.
I am also skeptical that prices would rise all that much if the immigrants were removed and native Brits were hired at a decent wage instead. Another reason prices are so high is the large portion of the purchase price of goods going to profits rather than wages.
Why is housing so expensive? There aren't enough houses and apartments to go around due to the mass importation of immigrants. An increasing percentage of housing is being bought up by capitalist investors (such as private equity) who then charge high rents.
People are not just consumers. They are also workers who first need to earn money before they can buy things (unless they are getting welfare gibs from the government). We can view the current system in which many people need to be supported by a welfare dole because business doesn't provide enough jobs (or doesn't pay workers a living wage) as a government subsidy to business. The taxpayer steps in to supply the needed purchasing power not provided by aggregate wages because businesses are pocketing too much of their gross revenues as profits and too large a portion of aggregate business revenue is paid out to capital rather than to labor.
Plainly, there is a crying need to end neoliberalism (i.e. dominance by finance capital plus globalization). Plutocracy must be ended.
The NHS worked very well until approximately 2004 which was when the immigration really started to be noticeable. It's been forgotten by both Labour and the Tories but basically it was set up by the military.
